Scope
Following on from the talk to the Society by Kenneth Herries last year the Society has arranged a visit to the Tyne and Wear Metro.
The visit is on a Monday to support a weekend in Newcastle should anyone desire to do so.
This visit will be to South Gosforth for the new Class 555 train, depot control room, mainline signalling control centre and relay room. Participants will then travel to South Shields for the learning centre comprising signalling school and driver training centre.
There is quite a bit of metro travel and walking between sites.
